Sight hounds, originally used by Pygmies, they were not able to survive the trip out of Africa for a long time.  While in Africa, these dogs would drive game into nets that the hunters had stretched out. Hunters attached a bell to the dog while driving game, because of the breed’s reluctance to bark.

So feisty that some will fit into Terrier personalities rather than Hound. They are known to be catlike. They will be destructive if bored. While they do not bark (or rarely at least), they can yodel. They are very competitive.
