These dogs made their mark by sitting on handsome cabs, partly to attract customers and partly to guard the cab. WWI severely cut back the breeds numbers but they are making a come back with the new millennium.
As confident and bold as any terrier, this breed made a name for itself as an escape artist and climber. They may bark if attention is lacking, and can suffer from separation anxiety. They tend to be very sensitive, meaning they may not be the best dog for small children, but do get along well with small animals.
