This breed has been around for at least 2000 years, as evidenced by art of the time. Hugely popular during the reign of Queen Victoria, they were almost extinct by the end of WWII. Its existence today is due only to the healthy breeding stock that existed in America at the time.
Very similar to a greyhound in behavior, these sight hounds tend to be very delicate and are sensitive to harsh movement or sound. They are good with kids but may be injured by rough play.
