This was an all purpose water dog, originally. Everything from hauling fishing nets to rescue work was fun for this cold water loving breed. They nearly disappeared when a rule was instituted which stated that no one was allowed to own more than one.
This is another gentle giant. It is patient with kids, tasks, and other animals. The only time that it will show anything besides patience is if one of its masters are threatened.
