Records show these dogs have been used for 3000 years, as rabbit hunters that would work with ferrets. The dog would ground the rabbit and the ferret would be sent in after it. When the rabbit was flushed from its hole, the dog would kill it.
These dogs are called the blushing dog, because, when excited, the face will flush with blood, giving it a blushed look. These dogs are good family dogs but will run their entire lives. A good deal of exercise is needed. They aren’t great with strange humans.
