Another dog out of the Buddhist monasteries, this dog was known as the Luck Bringer. Belying its name, this is not a terrier at all, but a herder instead. The terrier denotation merely refers to their size. The dogs were given as signs of exceptional gratitude. In the 1920s, they made their way to India, and from there headed to England. It wasn’t until the 1950s that they finally made it to America.

These are sweet dogs, usually. They like to play outside but are calm inside.  They are intelligent and like to please but can get a little wild when outside.  Given steady exercise and proper training, this is a wonderful animal.  They tend to pick out one person to be “theirs”.
