The enzyme lactase, which breaks down lactose, which are milk sugars, is not something that dogs have very much of. This makes dogs lactose intolerant. Since so many people are under the same restrcition, we have well documented symptoms of this. To be fair, your dog can tolerate a small amount of dairy without an problem. When they have had too much, symptoms can include:
- Diarrhea
- Gas
- Flatulence
- Abdominal Pain
