A spider that hides in the dark spaces, its bite is necrotizing, killing the flesh in the surrounding area.  The resulting ulcer will develop into gangrene.  If still not treated, the gangrene can enter the bloodstream.  The danger here is twofold.  The dog may not realize it has been bitten and allow the wound to fester into dangerous severity.  Also, there is no cure for this; all treatments are merely supportive.  Symptoms will be moderate to severe and can include:

  • Vomiting
  • Fever
  • Lethargy
  • Abnormal Bruising
  • Abnormal Clotting
  • Severe and Localized Ulceration
  • Organ Damage
  • Death
