This drug, used in nasal sprays and eye drops, works by blocking histamines which cause allergic symptoms in the body and is commonly used in treatment of both humans and canines.  Typically, the imidazoline begins to work within 15-20 mins but will take up to 2 hours to reach maximum effectiveness.  They can be used for various allergic reactions from food allergies to hay fever.  When a dog chews on a bottle or is given a dosage that is too large, they can have an moderate to severe effect  on the cardiovascular, renal, uterine, and neurological systems.  Symptoms can include:
