Used in paintball guns, these pellets contain dyes, gelatins, glycerol, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, and wax.   With so many paintballs being used in a area the games are played, there are many that are unexploded and laying about to be eaten.  These are often marketed as non-toxic but can be severely toxic in sufficient doses.  The gastrointestinal system will be affected as water is pulled from the body into the intestinal tract.  Salt and electrolyte imbalances will be the result.  Symptoms can include:

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Lack of Coordination
  • Tremors
  • Seizures
  • Loss of Consciousness
  • Death
