A very different plant from the Bilberry, the fruit is used in a variety of medicinal uses. The active agent in the fruit are tannins, which can have a mild to moderate affect on the gastrointestinal tract, with the amount eaten dictating the severity of the poisoning. While many people use tannins in tea and other consumables, these have been prepared and are no longer raw. Symptoms can include:
- Abdominal Pain
- Increased Water Intake
- Increased Urination
- Bloody Diarrhea
- Increased Heart Rate
- Renal Lesions
