This plant causes a dermatological toxic reaction to the insoluable calcium oxalate that it contains. It is a mild to moderate toxin and usually is not ingested as it causes discomfort when chewed. Symptoms can include:
- Oral Pain
- Pawing at the Mouth
- Swelling of Soft Tissue at the Mouth
- Drooling
- Foaming
- Vomiting
- Swelling of the Airways
