The stems, leaves and pits of the peach contain cyanide which can affect the heart, lungs and nervous system.  The plant is particularly toxic when wilting.  In  small doses, the body can process cyanide and dispose of it in a healthy manner.  As soon as a certain limit has been reached, the body loses that processing ability and severe reactions occur.  Symptoms can include:

  • Blocks Red Blood Cells from Using Oxygen
  • Dilated Pupils
  • Difficulty Breathing
  • Panting
  • Shock
