A flowering plant that emits the smell of cooked beef when crushed, it has a mild toxin, irisin, that affects dermatological systems. The entire plant can be toxic but the roots are more so than the rest of the plant. Brushing against the plant can cause lighter symptoms but ingestion can cause more intense effects. Symptoms can include:
