A problem with the way that the heart works that is present at birth, with several different possibilities. Aortic Stenosis is a narrowing of the aortic valve on the left side of the heart, causing the heart to work far harder than it should. Patent Ductus Arteriosus is a condition where some of the blood that should go to the lungs for oxygen bypasses the lungs altogether. Persistent Right Aortic Arch is when a fetal growth does not deteriorate and restricts the normal growth of the esophagus. Pulmonic Stenosis is a narrowing of the valve that allows the blood to flow from the right side of the heart to the lungs, causing irregularities in the beating of the heart. Ventricular Septal Defect is when there is a hole in between the left and right sides of the heart, causing blood to be diverted improperly. Each condition will show different symptoms and prognosis.
