This is a condition that has eyelashes growing from parts of the eyelid that don’t normally produce eyelashes.  This unusual placement can cause irritation or damage to the cornea and conjunctiva.  This will show up in young dogs and is more prone to certain breeds; Cocker Spaniel, Miniature Long Haired Dachshund, English Bulldog, Golden Retriever, Pekingese, Poodle, Shetland Sheepdog, Shih Tzu, and Weimeraner.  Symptoms can include:

  • Eyelashes growing from Unusual Parts of One of the Four Eyelids
  • Squinting
  • Rubbing of the Eye
  • Redness of the Eye
  • Excessive tearing
  • Discharge from the Eye
  • Swelling of the Eye
  • Corneal Abrasion
  • Change in Iris Pigmentation
