This is a condition common to short nosed breeds in which the lower eyelid folds inward towards the eye.  Repeated bouts of conjunctivitis can cause this situation, as well.  This can cause eyelashes or hair to irritate the eye, with the cornea being at particular risk.  The damage can cause scarring or blindness.  Symptoms can include:

  • Squinting
  • Excess Tearing
  • Rubbing of Eyes
  • Inner Eye Inflammation
  • Redness of Inner Eye
  • Sensitivity to Light and Wind
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Scratching of Cornea
  • Decreased Vision
