1) Each town, city, and village that issues licenses will have one or more dog control officers.
2) In the case of need of addition dog control officers, any municipality can contact another municipality or humane society or similar dog protective agency for aid.
4) Dog control officers may issue appearance tickets pursuant to section 150.20 of the criminal procedure law or serve process or issue an appearance ticket or uniform appearance ticket related to any proceeding either criminal or civil in nature or any local law or ordinance.
5) Any dog control officer or peace officer while acting within their duties shall make and maintain a complete record of any seizure or disposition of any dog. Such records will include but not be limited to a description of the dog, date and hour of seizure, the identification number of said dog, the location of seizure, the reason for seizure, and owner’s name and address.
