It is the duty of each dog owner or person having possession, custody, or control of a dog to remove the feces left by the dog from the sidewalk, gutter, street, or other public area. Each violation is punishable by a fine of not more than two hundred and fifty dollars. An appearance ticket may be issued to enforce this fine. This does not apply to guide dogs, hearing dogs, or service dogs accompanied by persons with a disability.
