1) Any agent or officer of a humane society, dog control officer, or police officer may lawfully cause an animal to be humanely destroyed if it si lost, strayed, homeless, or unwanted animal. to be able to do so, a veterinarian or two reputable citizens must certify that the animal is so maimed, diseased, disabled, or infirm that humane euthanasia is called for, or if the owner has requested such.
3) Euthanasia will be handled solely by means of an injection of sodium pentobarbital. The animal shall be heavily sedated beforehand. No animal shall be left unattended between the time that euthanasia begins and until it is ended.
4) In an emergency situation, a gunshot is also acceptable or if the animal is a imminent threat of serious physical injury to a person or another animal.
